Dave Lundgren

for Utah House District 47

About Dave

Dave Lundgren has been a resident of Utah for 21 years and Riverton for 16 years. He has been very active in local politics, having served as precinct chair in local caucuses and as a state delegate. A former business owner, he and his wife decided upon the birth of their daughter to have a parent at home at all times, so Dave stepped back to take care of the home and family. He is now eager to serve his community and the state.

Campaign Information

Last year, the state implemented a program which states it controls home prices and helps new families get into their first homes, but it is serving as a government subsidy for homebuilders. Despite massive opposition, we are repeatedly forced to vote against unpopular projects such as the Little Cottonwood Canyon gondola. Land from the Point of the Mountain project/old prison was sold off with little transparency, and government officials who were to oversee its development have been gifted civilian jobs in those same projects they oversaw.

All this while one out of every three state legislators works in the real estate development industry.

Utah needs strong conflict of interest legislation so we can be sure that our representatives are truly working in our best interest. They may cast votes which align with a person's beliefs on any given issue, but if the cost for that is to allow them to dip their hands into the state coffers, then it is time to elect those who can stand for values and beliefs without resorting to self enrichment. As a state representative, my primary goal would be to get seated on the House Ethics committee and to use that position to fight any and all corruption, to shine a light on backroom deals, and to bring a sense of public service back to our legislature.

The United Utah Party
Stands for the 5 E’s

Economy: We support the free market system as the engine for economic growth. Public policy must promote economic opportunity for all, regardless of social and economic class.

Education: We support robust and accountable funding for public education in order to promote economic growth and prepare students to thrive in a changing world.

Environment: We advocate for responsible stewardship of Utah’s natural resources over the long term, especially with respect to our air and water.

Equality: We support laws that provide protection against discrimination based on race, religion, gender, age, or sexual orientation. Every individual is of inherent worth, deserves respect, and has a right to participate fully in our shared political and economic life.

Ethical Government: We believe elected officials should act with integrity, uphold their oath of office, seek common ground on policy, and be accountable to their constituents rather than their political party. We call for greater transparency in governance and support electoral reforms that encourage voter participation and better reflect the public will.
